Series of Assaults
Since the beginning of the extensive conflict in Ukraine, a string of Russian military commanders have been targeted within Moscow.
This most recent event follows other serious incidents, such as:
- General Yaroslav Moskalik was died in a automobile blast in Moscow earlier this year.
- General Igor Kirillov was killed in late 2024 when a bomb concealed on a scooter was triggered from afar.
While a informant previously connected Kirillov's death to Ukraine's security service, such allegations are not officially confirmed as a matter of policy.
Hostilities has been marked by clandestine operations extending into the streets of the Russian capital.
The examination into General Sarvarov's death is still underway.
