Four Arrests Carried Out After Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein Images Projected on Windsor Castle
Several individuals were arrested after images featuring former President Donald Trump and convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein appeared onto Windsor Castle on Tuesday, coinciding with the president’s arrival in the United Kingdom.
Police Response and Detentions
Thames Valley Police confirmed that the individuals were arrested on charges related to "malicious communications" after what they described as a "public stunt." The detainees comprised a 60-year-old from East Sussex, a 36-year-old and a 50-year-old from London, and a Kent man aged 37.
The force noted that officers responded swiftly to stop the projection on the castle, where Trump is scheduled to greet the monarch during his official trip.
Context of the Event
The former president was associated with Epstein during the 1990s and early 2000s. To date, he has never been charged with any wrongdoing related to the late businessman.
This trip follows just days after the UK's top diplomat in Washington was dismissed over his association with the convicted sex offender.
Early on Wednesday, a vehicle could be seen in the town displaying an picture of Trump and Epstein along with the text: "Welcome to the UK, Donald."
Police Measures and Demonstration Plans
A significant security detail has been deployed throughout the area, with over a thousand personnel assigned to oversee activities in central London amid planned protests by protest organizers.
At the same time, Trump and First Lady Melania will take part in lunch with members of the royal household, visit the resting place of the late queen, and give a address at a formal dinner.
Protesters assembled in the town prior to the arrival, highlighting the divisive aspect of the trip.
