Former Arsenal Player Thomas Partey Rejects Sexual Assault Charges
Ex-Arsenal midfielder Thomas Partey has pleaded not guilty to sexual assault multiple complainants and engaging in non-consensual acts with a third woman.
The international midfielder pleaded not guilty to five counts of rape and an additional count of sexual assault when he appeared at Southwark Crown Court.
The reported offences were said to have happened between 2021 and 2022, when the 32-year-old regularly played in the English top flight. He was formally accused several days after departing from the north London club, following the conclusion of his playing agreement at the summer period.
Mr Partey was released on conditional bail until his court case, which is scheduled to begin at the same court on November 2nd the following year.
He verbally acknowledged his identity before denying all charges to every accusation leveled at him.
The midfielder, who now plays Spanish side Villareal, was already in England as his new team played Spurs in the Champions League on this week. He came on as a replacement in what turned out to be a 1-0 loss for his team.
The terms of his bail do not prevent Mr Partey from continuing his professional career, but he must notify police of any overseas trips one day in advance and must not contact the alleged victims.
