David Walliams parted ways with book publisher.

The comedian

Acclaimed writer for children and TV personality David Walliams has been dropped by his publisher HarperCollins UK, the company has said.

A spokesman for the firm commented: "Upon deliberation, and with the guidance of its recently appointed chief executive, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

Media sources suggest that the conclusion was taken subsequent to an investigation into claims about conduct deemed unsuitable directed at female individuals.

The company has not elaborated on the motivations for this action, stating: "We refrain from speaking about confidential company decisions."

To date, he has released in excess of 40 works combined, encompassing a Christmas book called *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins last autumn.

He first rose to fame on the TV sketch series *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He received an OBE several years ago in recognition of his work for charity and the arts.
